GoodMart Wins a 2011 Top Performer Award from the Con Edison Green Team
GoodMart is pleased to announce that it has earned a 2011 Top Performer award from the Con Edison Green Team. The award is in recognition of GoodMart's management of New York City commercial energy efficiency upgrades resulting in over 1,500,000 kWh in annual electricity savings. These electricity savings equate to over $200,000 in rebates paid back to our commercial and industrial lighting and controls customers, and conservatively, over $270,000 in ongoing annual electricity cost savings. This reduction in energy usage has an annual environmental impact corresponding to the removal from our atmosphere of over 2,000,000 pounds of carbon dioxide, the removal of 205 passenger cars from the roads, the removal of 121 average US households from the grid, growth of 789 acres of pine trees or nearly 1,000 tons of waste recycled instead of placed in landfills.
The rebates provided by the Con Edison Green Team make energy efficiency projects far more viable to our customers, leading to more business for us, creating jobs in our area, supporting local businesses, and resulting in the environmental benefits illustrated above. This is a true win-win, and we could not do it without the great team working for GoodMart, our contractor partners, our suppliers, and of course the Con Edison Green Team.
